The Ole Miss Student Union expansion will open in August 2017 before students arrive for the fall semester. The expansion will feature a transit center, food court, McAllister’s Deli and the Union Ballroom.

Construction, which began in early July 2015, is expected to be completed by 2019. Upgrading the building will increase its size from 97,000 square feet to about 170,000 square feet. Renovation of the existing Ole Miss Student Union began this month (January 2017).

“The Student Union expansion and renovation project supports the university’s commitment to developing student leaders by providing opportunities to enhance their leadership capacity, value-based development and social responsibility,” said Brandi Hephner LaBanc, vice chancellor for student affairs. “This project allows our university to expand student engagement activities and better support current student involvement. These are key elements to student retention and success.”
