Bella Gonzalez, a UM senior from Bay St. Louis who is double majoring in marketing and graphic design, is serving as an intern for the recruiting and internship team at the Discovery Channel this summer. She is responsible for creating graphic content and marketing materials, as well as communicating and associating with the interns to ensure they have the best experience at Discovery.

Divine Nine Garden

University officials conducted a dedication ceremony and ribbon cutting in early May for the National Pan-Hellenic Council Garden, which serves as a physical space for the nine African-American Greek-letter organizations that do not have properties on campus. The garden, next to the new residence hall between Crosby Hall and the Northgate housing complex, provides an outdoor space for learning, celebration, reflection and community building.

Student Volunteer of the Year

University of Mississippi sophomore Riley Juenger set a goal to raise $25,000 to fight blood cancers, and she more than surpassed it. In just a few short weeks, the banking and finance major from St. Louis raised more than $40,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of St. Louis, and recently was named the society’s Student of the Year after raising the most funds.
